I think this gif sums up all I want to say in this Chapter. The Alde heating system is once again leaking glycol and is unusable. Two years of ownership and still dealing with the same problems…
Hello. Sorry to hear of your problems. I am surprised that your RV dealer did not know how to address the toilet smell. It sounds like the problem outlined by the RV Geeks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xX60cCHwlM
They used a product called 360 Siphon to solve their smell issues. I ran across another You Tuber who declared that this product worked for them too. I have not yet purchased an RV, so I do not have any experience with this product. However, I have been impressed with the knowledge shared by the RV Geeks.
Thanks for the RV comparison shared in your last post. It is very interesting and helpful.
Thanks for the recommendation – unfortunately, the 360 Siphon was one of our first purchases when we discovered the problem and it didn’t help our situation. We have seen many positive reviews of it, and once we figure out what’s really causing our toilet problem, hopefully we’ll reinstall it and be as amazed as so many others have been with it’s performance.
I’m glad the comparison sheet was helpful! It’s nice to know all the time put in researching will help someone else as well. Good luck with your search!
Thank you for the comparison chart, it definitely is an asset when narrowing down what will work for me. I was going to purchase a Roadtrek Agile but now not even considering it after reading your troubles.
Can we expect another blog post…maybe an introduction to a new RV?
There will be an update soon. It appears we have solved our leaky heating system, but our black tank odor problem continues, as does our search for potential alternatives.
Just found your toilet odor post… I also have the same problem and have not been able to find a solution. I installed one of those fancy roof vents a year ago and it still has not solved my problem of black tank smell, which gets even stronger when I drive it. Have you been able to find a solution??
Well, I feel for ya, all too familiar Alde problems. We gave up, even after having a new upgraded boiler installed, nothing but problems. We deleted the Alde and went with a propane furnace and then of course had to add on demand propane hot water. Now, we are golden. We also bagged the garbage inverter that came with the 4 AGM batteries on our 2014 CS Adventurous and put in a new inverter and 4 lithium batteries and a new solar panel. All told, 30 grand later we are functional.
